EAT MO' GREENS
Why a Collard Greens Cultural Festival? Our food is an expression of our love. Today we must learn to take favorites, like collard greens, and prepare them in healthier ways. This festival highlights the different ways collard greens can be used and prepared, while extending the celebration of culture from food to music, wellness, sustainability and activities for youth. Additionally, we offer a collard green cook-off as a fun and engaging way of highlighting culinary masters of the collard greens craft and crowning a winner as the best collard greens cook in Georgia while inspiring everyone to eat healthier.
What makes this festival different? It is all in the greens -- an exciting platform on which to build a better awareness about overall wellness. We plan to feed not only the senses and body with good food and music, but also feed the soul. Be prepared to feast on our vegetarian collard green dinners (greens, yams, black-eye peas, collard green muffins) and don't forget to leave room for the piece de resistance, collard green ice cream!

We are talking about more than just your Mother’s cooking. One of our festival’s highlights is the Collard Greens Cook-off, geared towards all persons who can cook the meanest greens in Georgia! Keep your recipes secret, but bring your best cooking game to the table! Additionally there will be vegetarian cooking demonstrations and recipe sharing. It is simple, you will leave wanting to “Eat Mo’ Greens!”
