The idea for Mama Nobantu’s Collard Green Frozen Vegan Dessert began with a moment of curiosity and creativity.
In 1998, while attending a festival in Gilroy, California, Mama Nobantu encountered something
unexpected - garlic ice cream. That experience sparked a thought: what if a familiar, culturally meaningful ingredient could be transformed in the same bold way?

Instead of garlic, she turned to collard greens, a staple deeply rooted in tradition and community. What started as an experiment soon became a unique frozen dessert that blends culture, innovation, and flavor.
